If you are in the process of looking for a supervisor, then congratulations! You've made it this far! This process can be intimidating and stressful, but it's necessary to make sure you find someone that is a good fit for you and your future. I suggest that you meet with a few different supervisors to see who will be the best option. Every meeting/interview will be different. If you choose to meet with me, then I will give you the space to clarify any question that aren't answered here. I will then ask you questions to see where you are in your own development of your speciality, approach, etc. If you are here, then it means you are interested in supervision with me. Please read through this page and the rest of my website to see if we would be a good fit.
My approach to supervision is similar to my approach to therapy with my clients. I will meet you where you are and provide the support that's needed. More specifically, I'm eclectic and use an Integrated Model. In the beginning, as a new LPC-Associate, you may need more support, structure and guidance. I will most likely be more active in our supervision meetings and provide more direct instructions. As you grow as an Associate, I fully expect you to guide our supervision sessions and I will provide more of a consultant role. You will become more confidant and experienced in your practice and my role as the supervisor will continue to shift with you so that you develop more autonomy in your experience. I want to support you in developing your niche, approach to therapy and ways to help build your private practice. Throughout your supervision journey, we will regularly cover rule changes, continuing education, self care, and boundary setting. Supervision will include weekly virtual meetings (either solo or with a partner), development of your niche to standout from the other therapists depending on where you are located in Texas, Insights in to starting a private practice without insurance, Networking and marketing tips based on your niche. I will also provide you with a profile page on this website when you start your private practice. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee client referrals, but will offer Associates names to clients that call and may be a good fit for you. My monthly fee for supervision is $295 which is competitive in the for many supervisors in Texas depending on the region.
What I'm looking for in an LPC-Associate:
Associates are residents of Texas and are working towards their full LPC Licensure.
Associates have a goal to have their own private practice. Private practice doesn't always work for Associates during their supervised hours, but if your goal is to have a private practice at some point, then please still inquire.
Associates have a desire to work with clients from a similar community or specialty that is related to my expertise.
Associates will be someone that is detail oriented, takes initiative, and works hard to build their practice and complete their hours.
Associates will be self sufficient with their caseload AND will keep me updated on all client related safety issues and concerns.
Associates have the desire to continue their development by attending continuing education and more specialized trainings.
Associates will maintain self care practices and notify me of any personal limitations that may affect their ability to work with clients.
If you would like to move forward with the process of becoming one of my LPC-Associates, please email me at [email protected]. We can set up a time to meet virtually to decide if we're a good fit. If we both agree that we're a good fit, then I'll request references from your counseling related supervisors.
